Wolfsburg - in no other city in Germany is the topic of the automobile as present as it is here. No wonder, as Wolfsburg was founded in 1938 as the ‘city of the KdF car near Fallersleben’ and the headquarters of the Volkswagen Group are still located here today.
Top-class sport is the order of the day in Wolfsburg. The men's and women's teams of VfL Wolfsburg and our ice hockey club Grizzlys Wolfsburg both play in the top German leagues. If you don't just want to watch sport, but want to practise it yourself, there are plenty of opportunities to do so in the Allerpark.
If you are looking for peace and balance in nature, you are in good hands in Wolfsburg's central city forest. Not far from the city centre, there are numerous opportunities for walking, hiking, cycling or jogging on around 950 hectares. A special feature are the numerous fountains and (drinking water) springs, which provide refreshment along the route and can be discovered on a fountain and spring hike.
